Welcome to the Great Hearts Gala, the 6th annual benefit event for Starfish Family Services. This year we are excited to host our Gala at Cobo Hall on Thursday, June 8th. This year’s event will be an evening to remember filled with great friends, an ambience of community, wonderful food and a live auction.
We are honored to co-chair this year’s gala – celebrating the life-changing work of Starfish Family Services and The Jewish Fund. Both organizations are dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families across Metropolitan Detroit.
The Great Hearts Award is an annual recognition of an individual or organization that is making a profound difference in the lives of our families. This year we will recognize The Jewish Fund with the 2017 Great Hearts Award. The Jewish Fund was created in 1997 from the sale of Sinai Hospital to the Detroit Medical Center. As a legacy of Sinai Hospital, The Jewish Fund continues the tradition of assuring excellent and compassionate care for those in need across the region by awarding grants to help vulnerable individuals improve their health and lives.
Funds raised at this year’s gala will directly benefit key initiatives like building resiliency in children who have experience trauma, strengthening the parent-child bond and empowering parents to help build confidence, knowledge and skills to ensure strong, healthy families.
